 First Group Exchange Students Went to Malaysia Studying

On 16th February, 15 exchange students from our university arrived Malaysia. They will study for 4 months in University of Malaya without paying tuition.

According to MOU between University of Malaya and our university, through selecting the best students from different departments by testing their professional knowledge and English skills, 15 students finally were recruited by UM. They are Jiang Guangyin, Xu Hongye, Li Wenhao, Zhao Chenjian, Lu Qixin, Zhao Yun and Wu Hongyu from Computer Science and Technology Department, Zhou Qian, Zhang Lixu and Xu Xingliang from Information Technology and Business Management Department, Hu Dongmei, Xiang Zhongdan and Jiang Manxin from Digital Art Department, Peng Yao and Miao Yuhan from Department of Applied Foreign languages.

Secretary of the Party Committee and President Dr. Zhang Yinghui paid much attention to this exchange student’s project. He expected all the students would study hard in Malaysia, improve their English and carry forward our Neusoft students’ strong points and initiative spirit. International Office Director Ms. Zheng Wenchan hoped all the students can help and take care of each other, study hard and so on. All the students said they would make best of this valuable opportunity to study professional knowledge and improve their English skills so as to be international talents.

Introduction: The University of Malaya is a public research university located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the oldest university in Malaysia. In post-nominals the university's name is currently abbreviated as UM and Malaya during the pre-independence period. The University was founded in 1949 as a public-funded tertiary institution. Today, it has more than 2,500 faculty members of various expertise. In 2012, UM was granted autonomy status by the Ministry of Higher Education. In 2011, UM is ranked at 401 to 500 in the Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).And the THES – QS World University Rankings has ranked UM in the top 200 universities of the world.
